A road roller is a heavy-duty mechanical equipment used for rolling and leveling. Its working principle is mainly to use its own gravity to plastically strengthen the sandy, semi-clay soil or asphalt concrete pavement. It is often used in transportation projects with high grade requirements, such as highways, railways, river and sea dam bridge foundations, etc.
In highway construction, road rollers play an important role. The efficiency of the road roller plays a key role in the quality of highway rolling. From this point of view, the operation and maintenance of road roller equipment is very important. Correctly understanding the misunderstandings in the maintenance of road rollers, implementing scientific maintenance methods, and ensuring the normal operation of road rollers are of great significance to the quality of highway projects.
Gearbox maintenance
01 The gearbox should be cleaned at least once a season. When cleaning, first stop the car in a hot state, unscrew the drain plug on the side of the gearbox, drain the lubricating oil in the box, then screw on the oil plug, fill the box with kerosene, start the diesel engine, and let the gearbox run at low speed for 2-3 minutes. Stop the car to drain the kerosene, clean the oil plug and screw it to the gearbox.
02 The gearbox uses No. 20 gear oil.
03 The positioning device of the speed control mechanism and the reversing mechanism must be checked and adjusted frequently to keep the gear in the proper position to avoid the accident of gear shifting.
04 Always pay attention to the leakage of the seals of the gearbox. If the seals are damaged, they should be replaced in time.
05 Always check the bolts connecting the gearbox and the frame, tighten them when necessary, and do not let them loosen or fall off.
Hydraulic system maintenance
01 Check whether the mounting bolts of the filter, valve, motor, oil pump, oil cylinder, etc. are loose, and whether there is oil leakage at each joint.
02 Observe the oil level gauge on the side of the oil tank. When the hydraulic oil is too little, add the same grade of filtered hydraulic oil.
03 The hydraulic oil tank should be cleaned and changed once every six months. When adding or changing the oil, be careful not to mix impurities and dirt into the oil tank. The new oil added or replaced must be filtered in advance.
04 The hydraulic oil uses No. 68 anti-wear hydraulic oil.
05 The hydraulic oil filter should be cleaned or the filter element should be replaced after every 500 hours of use.
Vibration wheel maintenance
01 The lubricating oil of the vibration wheel should be replaced every 1000 hours. Check the vibration wheel lubricating oil for leakage at any time; when checking the oil level, turn the oil filling port to the top, open the oil release port, and let the oil leak out until there is no leakage or little leakage.
02 Replace the vibration wheel lubricating oil during maintenance, and pay attention to cleaning when changing the oil.
03 The lubricating oil should be CD grade 30 diesel engine oil.
04 For the lubrication and maintenance of the travel bearing, a sufficient amount of calcium-based grease should be added to the corresponding oil cup position after the whole machine has been used for an average of 20 days.
Main clutch maintenance
01 In addition to paying attention to adjusting its operating mechanism at any time, the main clutch should also be checked and adjusted to ensure that the ends of its three release rods are located in the same plane, and to maintain a certain gap (0.4-0.7 mm) with the release bearing.
02 The main clutch should be engaged and disengaged smoothly and without excessive force. When the clutch is engaged, the clutch pedal must be returned to its original position to fully engage the clutch. When the clutch is disengaged, the pedal must be stepped to the bottom to fully disengage the clutch. When operating, the clutch must be prevented from being in a semi-clutch and semi-engaged state to avoid burning the clutch.
03 Check the main clutch frequently to avoid oil stains on the friction plate and the pressure plate.
Side drive maintenance
Since the side drive has a low speed and a large load, it is susceptible to dust and sand contamination. You should always pay attention to checking its lubrication. Regularly remove the mud, sand, and fine stone chips on the gears and apply a new layer of calcium-based grease to avoid damage accidents.
Diesel engine maintenance
01 The diesel engine maintenance shall be carried out according to the diesel engine maintenance manual.
02 Road roller lubrication
03 Road roller lubrication uses pressure-resistant lithium-based lubricants except for the hinges and both ends of the steering cylinder. Ordinary lubricants are used for the rest.
